The Full Story
Hope Beyond Distance Foundation
The Hope Beyond Distance Foundation (HBDF) is located in Prince George’s County Maryland, but collaborates with other partners internationally. The program was founded by Keishia Thorpe and a group of her students who wanted to help those less fortunate people in the international community. The students are all from minority and from disadvantaged backgrounds. Most of them are immigrants and refugees, who have been impacted by social justice issues and still have friends and family members experiencing challenges in their native countries, every day.

HBDF Mission
The aim is to:
-
Provide resources and access to job opportunities to those who are unemployed to help address poverty (SDG1)
-
Provide students and families and those experiencing homelessness with food, school and personal supplies in order to eliminate hunger (SDG2)
-
Provide students with school supplies, pathways to success and provide make training accessible to teachers to improve the quality of education (SDG4)
It is important that we spread awareness about these common challenges and educate people about the injustices entrenched in our societies and move them toward actions that will improve the quality of living and create lasting change for generations.
